Question

I have an Android portable device. How do I connect the Wireless Hi-Fi speaker to the network and Internet?

Answer

Before you begin:

  • Install Philips AirStudio App from Google Play.
  • Check the SSID of your Wi-Fi network:
    Make sure the SSID consists of alphanumeric characters only and does not contains any space or special characters such as % # * / . (You may need to consult the user manual of the router.)
  • Check the password of your Wi-Fi network:
    Make sure the password does not contain special characters such as # / : ; ‘ . (You may need to consult the user manual of the router.)
  • Write down your SSID and password on a piece of paper.
  • The router is powered on and is working properly. 
  • Make sure Mac address filtering is not enabled on your router. (This feature is usually not enabled in most routers. But if you have enabled Mac address filtering before and need to disable it, consult the user manual of the router.)

  1. Make sure (1) the Wi-Fi network of your Android portable device is on and (2) the Android portable device is connected to the Wi-Fi network.
  2. Run Philips AirStudio App on your Android portable device.
  3. Tap Setup a new speaker


  4. An overview of the steps for setup would be shown. Read the steps and tap Next


  5. Connect the speaker to power supply.
  6. On the App, tap on Next.
    - The LED indication on the speaker blinks amber. Wait for a short while (~30sec) until the LED light turns into solid amber. The speaker is now ready for Wi-Fi setup. 


    Tip: When the LED indication is in solid amber, the speaker is not connected to a network and is ready for setup.
  7. Read the below screen. 


    (i) Short press the Wi-Fi Setup button (located on the back of the speaker) for less than 1 sec


    (ii) The speaker LED light will blink amber again and then after a while it will blink amber and white alternatively .
    (iii) On the App, tap Next.
  8. Wait for a short while (~20 sec) when the App is searching for the speaker until it is found. 


  9. Select the network used by your Android portable device and to which the wireless speaker shall be connected. Then tap Next


  10. Enter the password of your Wi-Fi network. Tap Next


    Important: The password is case sensitive. Please validate the password before proceeding.
  11. Select a name for your speaker. Alternatively, enter your desired name via the custom option. Tap OK


    After you tap <OK>, the speaker will reboot and connect to the network.
  12. Wait for the following screen on the App: 


  13. The LED indication on the speaker changes from blinking amber to solid white .
  14. The speaker is now connected to your network.
