Firmware-update BDP9000

Please be sure to follow the instruction steps in order to update your player. If a problem occurs while you are updating the player, please call Philips helpdesk for assistance.

It is possible that the firmware upgrade process will clear some of the video or audio output settings you have made -- after the upgrade you may have to adjust these settings in order to get the video and audio to work again with your equipment.

Burn the downloaded file onto a blank CD-R or CD-RW disc, following the below procedures.

1) Download the firmware update file

2) The update file is compressed (*.zip), the file should be uncompressed before burning.

3) Burn the update file on a blank CD-R or CD-R/W disc by using "Burn Image" option. (Ref. "Recorder" menu "Burn Image" in case of Nero Burning ROM)
The CD must be 'closed' or 'finalized'; this is a burning option in your burning program.

4) Burn an image file of the software update file (*.iso).

Notice:

Recommended CD Burning Program:
Nero Burning Rom
Burning Options (in case of using Nero Burning Rom)
"Recorder" menu>"Burn Image"> Select an uncompressed image file of the software update file (*iso).
Please check "Finalize CD" (No further writing possible)*.
Please refer to your own CD Burning Program Manual if you want to use any other CD burning program for burning ISO image file.
Make sure if the downloaded software is eligible for your BD-P9000.
(cf. CD image file name: 100413_01_BDP9000.iso)
The firmware update will not be executed properly if the update CD does not follow the upper procedures.

Warning!
It is very important: please read the below notice before updating your unit.
The following events may interrupt the update process and MAY RESULT IN PERMANENT DAMAGE TO THE UNIT WHILE UPDATING.
- Unplugging the power chord.
- Power Outage.
- Dirt or Scratches on the disk.
- Opening a disk tray during process.

1) Press OPEN/CLOSE to open the disc tray.
2) Insert the update CD disc with the software update, label facing up.
3) Press OPEN/CLOSE to close the disc tray.

The player will read the disc and then display a message asking if a firmware upgrade should be done.

4) Select 'yes' and press the OK button on the remote control to select.

5) It takes about 14 ~ 15 minutes to complete the update.

During the update, a number of progress messages will be displayed, and the Philips logo screen is shown occasionally. Do not turn off the power during update. After the update is completed and the tray will open automatically and the unit will shutdown automatically

6) After removing the update disc (make sure the unit has powered off automatically), leave the tray empty and turn on the unit with power button.

If you do not see anything on the TV, it may be the case that the video output setting was changed by the upgrade. Open the user access panel on the front and use the Video Output Selection button to select the setting for your TV.

When you see the Menu Languages, Select the preferred language with a corresponding number button.

The Flash update is now completed
