When using the TV guide (accessed via the ‘Guide’ button) to browse channels, pressing the ‘OK’ button to view a programme listed on the EPG will instead prompts an on-screen message asking the user: ‘Do you want to record?’. If the user again selects ‘OK’, the box can become locked onto the selected channel for an extended period of time.
The root cause of this problem has now been identified and Pace is working to update the software to resolve the issue, as well as provide a number of other upgrades which will enhance users’ experience of the product. There will be an over-the-air (automatic) upgrade with the latest software before the end of May which will correct this issue. This upgrade will also be available for to download from the Pace and Philips websites in the next week. Once downloaded, users will be able to easily update their box using a USB stick.
For those customers who have purchased and are using the DTR5520 before the OTA upgrade has been carried out, we would advise using the TV guide for reference purposes only, and navigating channels using the ‘Programme+/-’ button on their remote. If the box does become ‘locked’ in record mode, users should press 'Exit' and then 'OK' on their remote control to rectify the problem.
We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience that customers may be experiencing as a result of this issue. All Pace-designed products are manufactured to a rigorous set of guidelines, and the company remains committed to providing best-in-class products.
