Frequently asked questions

Question

Why is the track info displayed incorrectly or missing?

Answer

Information about MP3 tracks is stored in a so called ID-3 extension. This extension is added to the MP3 file and may contain for example the album title, song title, recording artist etc.

Some MP3 files (those that come from an unofficial source in particular) may not contain the ID-3 extension and therefore the relevant track info will not be displayed.

If you want to display the track info anyway, you can add your own ID-3 extension (also referred to as an ID-3 ´tag´). Several free software editors for ID-3 extensions are available on the internet. Use your favorite search engine (e.g. Google or Yahoo) to look for the terms  ¨ID-3¨ and ¨editor¨, and you will find a large number of links to free software utilities.

if you are experiencing difficulties with a track from an official source, you may need to change the language of the player to match the language of the ID-3 extension.

You can find the ´language´ option in the ´Settings´ menu. Remove the tracks, change the language and then transfer the tracks to your player again.
