Question

Why do all of the digital channels have a second digit?

Answer

With the new digital broadcasting system, it is possible for more than one program to fit in the same space that once carried a single analog channel. A digital channel may carry one or two HD (High Definition) or up to eight sub channels call SD (Standard Definition).

The second digit is the channel number for the sub channel.

When selecting a digital channel by the first digit, the first sub channel number will automatically appear. You can channel up to select additional sub channels, if they are present, or you may select your channel by entering the first channel digit, followed by the period or dash on your remote, followed by the sub channel number.

To view the resolution of the signal you are receiving, press the INFO button on your remote control.
