Why do I get “Encoding failed. Restart Wi-Fi MediaConnect.” when trying to run MediaConnect from a Philips device?

Cause:

The Wi-Fi MediaConnect software has been set to “Run this program in compatibility mode for: Windows XP (Service Pack 3)"

Solution:


Click on [Start]>[All Programs]>[Philips]>[Wi-Fi MediaConnect]> Right Click on [Wi-Fi MediaConnect] and Left Click on [Properties].

From within the Wi-Fi MediaConnect Properties make sure “Run this program in compatibility mode for:” is not checked. If it is checked, Click on the box to remove the check and select [OK]. If the box is grayed out and the check box is selected. Click [Change setting for all users] and remove the check box listed on that screen and select [OK].
