How to download a video from YouTube and play it in my device?


To play a video from YouTube, there are 3 steps:

(A) Download the video from YouTube (in the Internet) into PC.
(B) Import the video file from PC into Philips Songbird Video Library.
(C) Transfer the video file into the device using Philips Songbird. 

(A) Download the video from YouTube (in the Internet ) into PC.
Note: There is a limitation on downloading videos from the YouTube website. Please refer to the “Help” session in YouTube website for details.

To download videos that are in your own YouTube account, follow the steps below:

  1. Log in into your YouTube account.
  2. Click on “Uploaded”.
  3. Under the video you want to download, click on .

  4. Select “Download MP4” when prompted. 

  5. Save the file in the PC.

(B) Import the video file from PC into Philips Songbird Video Library.

  1. Start Songbird on the computer.
  2. Click "File" in the toolbar and select "Import Media..." .

  3. Choose the folder that stored your saved video file in the computer. Click “OK” .
  4. When the import is completed, the files are visible under “Video” in the Library

(C) Transferring the video file to the player.

  1. Connect the player to the computer.
  2. In the Songbird window, click “Video” under “Library” .
  3. Click to select the video file that you want to transfer. (To select more than one file, press and hold the Ctrl button on the keyboard while clicking).
  4. Right Click to display a drop list. Select "Add to Device" and "(Your player model)". The transfer of file(s) starts. 

  5. The circle in front of the device name rotates when the file is being transferred to the player. When it stops rotating, the transfer is completed.
  6. To verify whether the file is successfully transferred, click “Video” under your device

Note: For optimal functioning of Philips Songbird, make sure Quick Time (latest version) and Windows Media Player 11 (or later) are installed before installation of Philips Songbird.
