Question

Why does it take a long time to get the video streaming?

Answer

The time it takes to get the video streaming is highly dependent on (1) the speed of Wi-Fi or 3G network connection to your smartphone/tablet; and (2) the speed of the Wi-Fi network connection to the In.Sight Monitor.

Philips In.Sight Wireless Monitor is designed to work with different types of network connection operating at different data transmission speeds. But the data transmission speed from your Wi-Fi network or 3G/Edge strongly influences the performance of the In.Sight App. The faster the connection speed, the faster you can see the video from the monitor.

Network speed also affects the video quality. If the network speed is slow or has low data speed, bitrate is automatically decreased so that the data transmission load is less. This means, you can still see video, but at a lower quality. If a fast internet connection with high data speed is used, video quality improves.

For optimal video streaming, Philips recommends using:

  • High-speed 3G/Wi-Fi connection for your smartphone/ tablet; and
  • High-speed (upload speed of 800kbps or above) Wi-Fi network connection for the monitor.
