Question

How do I descale my Syntia (descale version 2.1)?

Answer

For this machine two different descaling procedures are applicable, version 2.1 and 1.0.
Please check first, which version for your machine is the correct one. For a detailed help on this, see below related articles: “How do I recognize, which version of the descaling procedure is applicable for my Syntia?”

Limescale builds up inside the machine during use. It needs to be removed regularly as it may clog the water and coffee circuits of your machine. The display indicates when descaling is needed.

When the descaling symbol is shown in the display, the machine must be descaled.

Caution: Never use vinegar as a decalcifier.
Use the Philips/Saeco decalcifier. You can purchase the Philips/Saeco decalcifier separately in the online shop (Online store) or at a local dealer.
