BD Live is a technology that enables your Blu-ray player to access additional features via the internet.  

BD-Live features can include Internet chats, scheduled chats with the director, Internet games as well as downloadable featurettes, quizzes and movie trailers.

If your Blu-ray player is connected to the internet you can access BD Live features via the Disc's BD-J (*) menu.

In order to use BD-live functionality of your Blu-ray player, the Blu-ray disc that you play back must support BD-live. Most Blu-ray discs that contain BD-J menus do not allow a Blu-ray player to automatically resume a movie from the point at which it was stopped.

(*) BD-J is a version of Sun Microsystems´ Java programming language that was designed to be implemented in Blu-ray players.
