How to download the
software to your PC
You may either go onto
the Philips support site to download the firmware .exe file directly or when
you launch the firmware manager, it will also download the latest firmware from
the server automatically.
Download firmware from
the Philips support site.
1.
Launch the Internet
Explorer
2.
Enter the Philips
support site at url http://www.philips.com/support
3.
Select your resided
country & language
4.
Enter the model number
5.
Click on Software under
Product Support
6.
Double click your
desired language under Firmware upgrade software to download the exe file to
your PC.
7.
Download the file in a
temp directory on your PC.
Download firmware from
the firmware server with Firmware manager
1.
Make sure that you have
your PC connected to the Internet, as the firmware manager will download the
firmware from the firmware server, it is necessary that you have the PC online
during the entire the process.
2.
Insert a fresh battery
into the player, switch on the player and connect it with the PC.
3.
Run the application on
your PC at Start->Programs->Philips Firmware Manager->Philips Firmware
Manger
4.
The application will
download the firmware automatically from the server.
How to upload the
software to your device
If you have not
already downloaded the firmware from the support site, follow the steps below
to upgrade your device.
1.
Make sure that you have
your PC connected to the Internet, as the firmware manager will download the
firmware from the firmware server, it is necessary that you have the PC online
during the entire the process.
2.
Insert a fresh battery
into the player, switch on the player and connect it to the PC.
3.
Run the application on
your PC at Start->Programs->Philips Firmware Manager->Philips Firmware
Manger
4.
Click on the icon Check
update, the application will download the firmware downloader exe file
automatically from the server
5.
Once the downloading
complete, the firmware downloader will launch automatically.
6.
Click the START button.
7.
The firmware will be
uploaded to the device.
8.
Once the upgrade
process is completed, click FINISH to close the application.
9.
You may now disconnect
the GoGear Player from your PC.
If you have the
firmware .exe file already downloaded in your computer, follow the steps below
to upgrade your device.
1.
Insert a fresh battery
into the player, switch on the player and connect it to the PC.
2.
Double click to run the
downloaded .exe file in the computer.
3.
The firmware downloader
will start the upgrade process after the player is detected in normal mode.
4.
Click the START button
5.
The firmware will be
uploaded to the device.
6.
Once the upgrade
process is completed, click FINISH to close the application.
7.
You may now disconnect
the GoGear Player from your PC.
