Firmware (FW) version PRAMN6.4
===================================

The Firmware Manager supports firmware upgrade process in normal mode.  This process will download firmware directly from firmware server and write it into the GoGear player.  
Afterward, the GoGear player will be formatted to complete the process. 


Do I need to upgrade?
=================
The new firmware will offer the following enhancement: 
- Improve on power management to disable the Backlight and recording function in low battery state
- Solving the problem with occasional power shut down during playback of recorded file when pressed and hold the volume key


How do I upgrade ¡V part A
===================
Following are steps for firmware upgrading.


First, check the existing firmware version of your GoGear player. If you already have the latest version, there is no need to upgrade.


How can I check the version number of my firmware?
===================================================
- This information is available from your device. 
- Press the MENU key
- Scroll down to Settings
- Enter Settings by pressing the > key 
- Scroll down to Information
- Enter Information by pressing the > key 
- You will see FW Vers : xxx, where xxx is the version 


How do I upgrade ¡V part B
===================

- First Make sure that you have your PC connected to the internet, as the firmware manager will download the firmware from the firmware server, it is necessary that you have the PC online during the entire the process.
- Run the application on your PC at Start->Programs->Philips Firmware Manager->Philips Firmware Manger.
- Connect the GoGear player with the PC in normal mode. Make sure that you have a fresh battery inserted. Switch on the player.
- Firmware Manager will be able to start the upgrade process after the player is detected in normal mode. 
- Click the START button, select the firmware and click OK
- The upgrade process will continue to download firmware.
- Once the upgrade process is completed, click FINISH to close the application.
- You may now disconnect the GoGear Player from your computer.
