Coffee grounds drawer and internal drip tray:
Empty and clean the coffee grounds drawer and drip tray daily while the machine is on. The machine only registers that the coffee grounds drawer is emptied and resets the ‘coffee grounds drawer full’ signal when it is turned on. Other maintenance operations should be carried out when the machine is turned off and unplugged.
Water tank and external drip tray:
Empty and clean the water tank daily. Remove the small white filter from the water tank and clean it with fresh water. Put the filter back into its housing by gently pressing it while you turn it.
Empty and clean the external drip tray daily and each time the ‘drip tray full’ indicator pops up through the drip tray cover. Clean the area under the machine where the drip tray is located.
Cleaning of the dispensing spout:
The dispensing spout be removed from the machine. You can clean the spout by rinsing it with hot water.
Cleaning of the Milk Carafe:
It is important that you clean the Milk Carafe daily or after each time you have frothed milk. This for hygiene reasons and to ensure perfect milk froth consistency.
The weekly cleaning is more thorough as all parts of the Milk Carafe dispenser will be disassembled.
Pre-ground coffee compartment:
When you frequently make coffee with pre-ground coffee, you have to clean the pre-ground coffee compartment every week. Use the cleaning brush to remove coffee residues and deposits. Do not poor any liquids into the coffee bean hopper or into the pre-ground coffee compartment.
Coffee bean funnel:
Some ground coffee can block the coffee funnel inside the machine. To prevent the coffee funnel from getting clogged, you need to clean it weekly. To be able to reach the coffee funnel, you need to take out the brew group and clean the coffee funnel with a spoon handle. Location of the coffee funnel see picture below.
You have to clean the brew group every time you fill the coffee bean hopper or at least once a week. Make sure that the machine is off when you remove the brew group.
Rinse the brew group with lukewarm water and clean the upper filter carefully. Also clean the inside of the machine with a soft, damp cloth.
After approximately 500 brewed coffees, we advise to clean the machine with the “Coffee Oil Remover” (CA6704). This completes the maintenance process for the brew group.
Caution: Do not use any cleaning agent or soap to clean the brew group.
When you rinse the brew group, you also wash away some grease. If you clean the brew group frequently, you also have to lubricate it frequently.

"For hygiene reasons, all parts that come into contact with milk must be rinsed thoroughly with running hot water after each use. Soaking the parts in warm water can help to remove any residues. Rinse all items very well after you have cleaned them with dishwashing liquid. Soap or cleaner residues can result in no foam being created when you froth milk. "
