Question

Why am I unable to record on a particular DVD disc?

Answer

It is important to realize that you cannot use the recorder to duplicate copyright protected material (from DVDs or videotapes) onto a recordable DVD. If the message  “COPY PROT” appears, the material that you are trying to record is protected.

You also need to  verify that the disc to which you want to record is suitable (compatible and intact). Once you have finalized a DVD +R/ -R, you can no longer record to it or edit the content.

Insert a different recordable DVD in a compatible format (DVD+R/  -R, DVD+RW/  -RW, or DVD+R with dual layers), making sure that the label is facing up.
