Instructions for connecting the television as a monitor while recording.

Answer

  1. Unplug the TV and accessory devices before you make any connection.
  2. Use a RCA audio/video cable (1), connect one end of the cable to the AV output jacks of the first accesory device (2) (such as VCR, DVD player, etc) that you wish to record from.
  3. Connect the other end to the 'AV1 IN' or 'AV2 IN' audio/video jacks on the back of the television.
  4. Use a second RCA audio/video cable (3), connect one end of the cable to the AV input jacks of the second accesory device (4) (such as VCR, DVD recorder, etc) and the other end to the 'MONITOR OUT' audio/video jacks on the back of the television.
  5. Switch on the TV and press the button on the remote control repeatedly to select the AV input to which the first accessory device (2) is connected, AV1 or AV2.
  6. Switch on the first accessory device (2) and insert a pre-recorded VHS tape (for VCR) or DVD disc (for DVD player) and press the play button.
  7. Switch on the video recorder (4) and select the input to which the television is connected.
  8. Insert a VHS tape (for VCR) or DVDRW disc (for DVD recorder) and press the record button.
  9. Now the video recorder is recording what is being viewed on the TV screen.
