My Nike psa player has no power. What's wrong?

Answer

  • Your battery may have gone flat; a 1.5V AAA-size battery is required. Also, make sure that the battery is inserted correctly according to the polarity marked in the battery compartment.
  • If you are using rechargeable battery that by packed with psa[128max, you may need to recharge the battery with the battery charger and until the battery is fully charged, a fresh regular AAA size battery is required.
  • You may not have the button press and hold long enough, press and hold the button for 5 seconds to see if the unit may be powered on.
  • The Flash memory may be corrupted. To recover the unit, please go through the following recovery steps

For PC users

  1. Restart your computer
  2. Open My Computer ->Control Panel ->System->Hardware->Device Manager
  3. Remove the battery from the battery compartment of your psa player
  4. Hook up the psa player with your PC
  5. Press and hold the button WHILE inserting a fresh battery into the player
  6. Continue holding down the button for another 5 seconds
  7. Monitor the Device manager, the display will refresh and an item labeled “Player recovery device class” will appear as one of the listed devices
  8. Unplug and reconnect the psa player, the display will refresh again and the “Player recovery device class” will turn into “Nike psa[128max player class” or “Nike psa[64 player class”

For Windows2000 and XP:

Open Windows Explorer and click the REMOVABLE drive. The computer will prompt you to format disk, click YES and START to format the psa player. After the format is completed, close the Windows Explorer. Do another format of the player at Start -> Programs -> Nike psa[128max player -> Format psa, Uncheck the QUICK FORMAT box and click START to reformat. . (same as for Nike psa[64 player) Please take care not to interrupt or unplug the player from computer when the formatting is in progress.

For Windows98 and WindowsME:

Do format of the player at Start -> Programs -> Nike psa[128max player -> Format psa. Uncheck the QUICK FORMAT box and click START to reformat. Please take care not to interrupt or unplug the player from computer when the formatting is in progress. (same as for Nike psa[64 player)10. Unplug and reconnect again, the unit should now be able to resume operation.

To avoid this in future, please avoid unplugging set during installation and always use fresh battery.

For Mac users

  1. Restart your computer
  2. Take out the battery from the battery compartment of your psa player
  3. Hook up the psa player with your Mac computer
  4. Press and hold the button while inserting a fresh battery into the player
  5. Keep holding down the  button for another 5 seconds
  6. Unplug and reconnect the psa player, the computer will prompt you to initialize disk, select “MAC OS Standard XXXMb” in the dialogue box and click INITIALIZE to format the psa player.
  7. Click the "Nike psa[128max format" or "Nike psa[64 format" icon on the desktop to reformat the psa player. Uncheck the QUICK FORMAT box and click START to reformat. Please take care not to interrupt or uplug the player from computer when the formatting is in progress.
  8. Unplug and reconnect again, the unit should now be able to resume operation.
  9. To avoid this in future, please avoid un-plugging set during installation and always use fresh battery.
