The message PLAYER PROBLEM, CONNECT TO PC, START DEVICE MANAGER, RESTORE shows on the display of my ShoqBox.


You have a file error: system file may be missing or you have a format error on PSS. To remedy

  1. Connect the ShoqBox to the power supply with the AC/DC adapter.
  2. Make sure all other applications such as Philips Device Plug-in, Windows Media Player or Windows Explorer that accessing the device are closed or else Device Manager will not recognize the device. Launch the Device Manager at Start->Programs->Philips Device Manager on your PC.
  3. Select the REPAIR tab on the dialogue box and then click Repair to start repairing.
    IMPORTANT: All music & content of your device will be erased once the ShoqBox is repaired.
  4. Once the repair is complete a dialogue box will pop up; click OK and unplug the ShoqBox from the computer. IMPORTANT: All music & content of your ShoqBox will be erased once the factory setting is repaired.
  5. Follow all screen instructions to complete the repair.
  6. The Device Manager will close automatically once the success message is displayed. Close all opened application and then unplug your ShoqBox.
  7. Once the ShoqBox is disconnected from the computer, the unit will start up as usual.
