Question

Connecting to a Cable Box or Satellite Receiver

Answer

  1. Connect the Antenna/Cable TV signal to the IN jack on the Cable Box/Satellite Receiver.  When you hook your DVDR up this way you will need to use your satellite or cable box in order to select channels.
  2. Connect the Cable Box/Satellite Receiver {RF OUT or TO TV} to the ANTENNA-IN jack on the recorder.
  3. Use the supplied RF coaxial cable to connect the TV-OUT jack on the recorder to the antenna input jack on your TV (VHF/UHF RF IN).
  4. Use the audio/video cables to connect the VIDEO (CVBS) EXT1 /AUDIO INPUT on the recorder to the matching VIDEO/AUDIO output jacks on the Cable Box/Satellite Receiver.
  5. Use the audio/video cables to connect the VIDEO (CVBS) OUTPUT/ AUDIO OUTPUT on the recorder to the matching VIDEO/AUDIO input jacks on the TV.

Note: Remember when doing a recording, you will need to leave the reception device (cable or satellite box) on and tuned to the correct channel for recording. Timer recordings will not occur if there is no signal.
