Is there a relation between the size of the Editor configuration file and the amount of memory needed on the Control Panel?
The size of the binary configuration file written into the Control Panel is mainly influenced by the size, type and number of different graphical images in the configuration file (.xcf).
The editor converts all graphical images to 16 bit PNGs. If a lot of high resolution graphics are used in the .xcf source file, then the resulting binary might be much smaller. There is no linear relation between the size of the .xcf at one end and the amount of memory needed in the Control Panel at the other hand.
