Question

I have upgraded my Windows Media Player from 10 to 11 and encountered problem with synchronization and detection of unit by PC? What could be the problem?

Answer

Note: Windows Media Player does not come with your player and it is recommended that you always use Windows Explorer to transfer music onto your player.

  • If your PC failed to detect the player after upgrade from Windows Media Player 10 to 11 then there is a chance that the USB controllers may be corrupted on your PC.
    • Please follow the steps below to re-install the USB controllers.
      1. Go to Start>Settings>Control Panel
      2. Select the Hardware tab
      3. Click to enter the Device Manager
      4. Extend the Universal Serial Bus controllers and select each USB port available
      5. Double click and then select the Driver tab
      6. Click on the Update driver button
      7. Under the question "Can Windows connect to Windows Update to search for software?" select "No, not this time" and then click Next.
      8. Select "Install from a list or specific location (Advanced). Click Next.
      9. At the Hardware Update Wizard, select "Don't search. I will choose the driver to install." Click Next.
      10. Select "Standard Universal PCI to USB Host Controller" and then click Next to complete.
  • If you encounter problem with music synchronization with Windows Media Player 11, please roll back to Windows Media Player 10 or contact Microsoft for assistance
