Question
Do I need a special Philips antenna to receive digital terrestrial TV broadcastings? And what kind of antenna should I use?
Answer
Digital terrestrial television uses a normal antenna technique. Depending on the condition of your antenna and local circumstances, you may not need to install a special antenna.
When you connect an antenna, please pay attention to the following:
- Several transmitters simultaneously send the same signal over the same frequency channel; a more directional sensitive antenna is preferred.
- Gutter antennas are less powerful and therefore the signal that they transmit may be weaker.
- The use of a non-directional antenna could result in bad reception because of interference from other antennas in its vicinity.
- Gutter antennas are also marketed as digital antennas.
