Question

How can I manually program additional digital channels to my TV if I have a rotary antenna?

Answer

There are several web sites from which you can get a list of broadcast channels in your area. The example listed below is from www.antennaweb.org.

Enter your zip code to determine which stations are in range.

This is an example of channels listed on this website. Notice that the "Frequency Assignment" number may not be the same channel number that appears on your TV screen after programming. The Broadcaster can display a different number on your TV than the assigned channel number that the Digital signal is transmitted on.

To add a channel to your TV,

  1. Write down the "Frequency Assignment" channel number you wish to add.
  2. Use the remote control to select the "Frequency Assignment" channel number on the TV.
  3. If the channel selected has sufficient signal, a picture will appear.
  4. Once the picture appears on the screen, the new channel will be automatically added to the TV memory.

If you are not able to receive the channel, you may have to rotate the antenna in the direction indicated by the website.

Follow the steps below to adjust the antenna.

  1. Press the 'MENU' button on the remote control to access the TV menu.
  2. Press the cursor down to select INSTALLATION and press the cursor right.
  3. Press the cursor down to select CHANNELS and press the cursor right.
  4. Select WEAK CHANNEL INSTALLATION and press the cursor right.

  5. Select the "Frequency Assignment" channel number you wish to add.
  6. Press the green color button (START) on your remote control. A signal level bar will appear to show the signal strength of the selected channel.

  7. Rotate the antenna in the direction indicated by the website.
  8. If the channel selected has sufficient signal, a picture will appear.
  9. Press the blue color button on the remote control to store the channel.
  10. Once stored, the TV will return to the channels menu.
  11. Press the 'MENU' button to exit the menu.
