How can I improve the sound quality of my TV?

In order to improve the sound quality, make sure that you observe the following guidelines:

  • Check the quality of the incoming signal on the TV with a different source like DVD or VCR.
  • Splitting the signal will make it considerably weaker. If you use an antenna cable splitter: connect the antenna directly to the TV without the splitter.
  • Check your cables and cable-connections.
     
    1. Make all your cables as short as possible.
    2. Use high quality antenna cable.
    3. Connect the plugs well into their sockets.

Check whether the sound quality has improved. If not:

You can use the smart settings in the TV menu to set your TV to a predefined sound settings that will give you the best sound quality.

Follow these steps to select the settings that suit your preferences:

  1. Press the 'MENU' button on the remote control to access the main menu.
  2. Select SMART SETTINGS and press the cursor right to access the smart settings menu.
  3. Press the cursor up/down to select a predefined smart setting and press the 'OK' button for confirmation.
  4. Press the 'MENU' button to exit the menu.

Alternatively, you can set your personal sound preference by following these steps:

  1. Press the 'MENU' button on the remote control to access the main menu.
  2. Press the cursor down to select SOUND and press the cursor right to access the sound menu.
  3. Press the cursor up/down to access the SOUND settings.
  4. Press the cursor right to select and the cursor up/down to adjust them to suit your preferences.
  5. Press the 'MENU' button to exit the menu.
  6. If you see the mute symbol on the screen, deactivate the mute feature by pressing the button on the remote control.

If the TV is connected to the audio system:

  1. Check the connection with the audio system.
  2. Switch the audio system to the correct source.
  3. Turn the volume of the audio system up.

If you do not have sound or bad sound on one or a few channels, the problem is with the reception or the broadcasting quality of these channels.

Fine-tune the analogue channel(s). Fine-tuning can be useful when the frequency has shifted a bit or when interference of another frequency occurs.

  1. Press the 'MENU' button on the remote control to access the main menu.
  2. Press the cursor down to select INSTALL and press the cursor right to access the installation menu.
  3. If any of the channels are locked, the screen will prompt you to enter your PIN code in order to access the Installation menu.
  4. Press the cursor down to select CHANNEL INSTALLATION and press the cursor right to access the channel installation menu.
  5. Press the cursor down to select ANALOG: MANUAL INSTALLATION and press the cursor right.
  6. Press the cursor down to select FINE TUNE and press the cursor right.
  7. Adjust the frequency with the cursor up/down in case of poor reception of the channel found.
  8. Press the 'OK' button to confirm once adjustment is completed.
  9. Press the cursor down to select STORE CURRENT CHANNEL and press the cursor right to STORE.
  10. Press the 'OK' button to store the frequency.
  11. Press the 'MENU' button to exit the menu.

Reinstall the analogue and digital channel(s):

  1. Press the 'MENU' button on the remote control to access the main menu.
  2. Press the cursor down to select INSTALL and press the cursor right to access the installation menu.
  3. If any of the channels are locked, the screen will prompt you to enter your PIN code in order to access the Installation menu.
  4. Select COUNTRY and press the cursor right.
  5. Press the cursor up/down to select the country where you are located and press the 'OK' button for confirmation.
  6. Press the cursor down to select CHANNEL INSTALLATION and press the cursor right.
  7. Select AUTOMATIC INSTALLATION and press the cursor right to START NOW.
  8. Press the OK button.
  9. Press the green button (START) to start auto installation.
  10. The menu screen disappears and the progress of auto installation is displayed. The progress bar indicates the number of analog and digital TV channels found. 
     
     
     
  11. When Auto programming is complete, a message appears confirming the completion. Press the red button (FINISH) and the TV returns to the Installation menu.
  12. Press the "MENU' button to exit the menu.

Note: If you interrupt the auto installation, not all local channels will be installed.

If the problem is still not solved, contact the broadcaster or your provider to verify whether there is a broadcasting problem.
