Question

When I connect my cable/satellite box via components through the receiver, and connect to TV via HDMI, why is the output to TV at 1080p when the broadcast is 1080i?

Answer

This is because the receiver has a video upscale which allows you to enjoy the highest definition video quality possible, supported by the TV.

The frame rate of the video contents from the cable/satellite box will be preserved so that there will not be any jerking motions due to framerate conversion.
