The most probable reason for this behaviour is that you are trying to play a track in an unsupported file format.
When you try to playback a track in an unsupported format, your player will display the message "Non-supported file format".
If this message does not appear, you may be trying to playback a copy protected music file. Most companies that sell music over the internet provide the files in a copy protected format, which your player does not support.
If you used Windows Media Player version 10 or 11 to rip the CD, you may have selected the option ¨Copy protected¨. Try to rip the same tracks again while you make sure to deselect ¨Copy protected music¨.
