What is “Auto white-balance” feature?

When taken in a photo or video under different environments, the same color may not look the same because of different light sources. (For example, a white paper taken under fluorescent light tends to look bluish in the photo. But the same white paper taken under tungsten light tends to look yellowish in the photo.)

When we look at the environment with our eyes, we are not aware of this because our human eyes automatically perform “white-balance” for us. For cameras or video recorder, “white-balance” has to be performed and normally consumers have to change the white-balance settings of the device.

Your camcorder is equipped with automatic white-balance correction feature. In other words, there is no need to change any white balance settings even the light source is changed. It automatically performs white balance for optimal record of color.
