When two Bluetooth devices connect, they learn about the protocols that the other device offers. Only devices that share the same protocols can exchange data.
AVRCP profile provides a standard interface to permit a device to control the A/V equipment to which a user has access. It may be used in concert with A2DP profile or VDP profile.
There are different versions of AVRCP profile. Version 1.0 offers basic remote control commands such as Play, Pause, Stop, etc.. Version 1.3 supports metadata information.
