After using the light, I had a bad headache and/or nausea.

Some people are very sensitive to light, which can result in a headache and/or nausea. This is easily fixed. If you would like, take a day or two off from using the light. Then, if you have a light that has adjustable intensity, reduce the intensity of your light. If your headaches or nausea continue, then try reducing your intensity even more.

If reducing the intensity doesn’t work, you can also reduce the amount of time you are exposed to the light. Sometimes you need to reduce both the intensity and the time. Because light therapy is a very individualized treatment, you may have to try it a few different ways to find out which is best.

It is also important to remember to have other light on in the room. This reduces the contrast in the room, reducing the strain on your eyes.
