Ironing synthetic materials at high temperatures causes stains when the material is scorched. Synthetics and synthetic-mixed fabrics can only be ironed at the 'two dot' or 'wool' temperature setting or lower.
Always set the temperature according to the type of clothing being ironed. If unsure, always start with a lower temperature.
If the soleplate is stained, heat up the iron to 'MAX' and iron the soleplate over a piece of moist cotton rag.
