Regular descaling prolongs the life of the appliance and guarantees optimal brewing results for a long time.
For normal use (two brewing cycles a day), descale the appliance:
• Every two months if you use soft water (up to 18 dH) or filtered water;
• Every month if you use hard water (over 18 dH).
To descale your appliance, we advise you to use white vinegar (up to max 8% acetic acid), as other
products may damage your coffeemaker.
To descale the appliance, please follow the steps below:

![]() | 3. Put a paper filter in the filter holder to collect the scale |
![]() | 4. Press and hold the on/off switch until the word 'CALC' appears on the display. The appliance operates for 5 minutes and then switches off for 10 minutes to let the descaling solution act. The appliance switches back on and operates for another 10 minutes to complete the brewing cycle. |
5. Let the appliance cool down for 3 minutes and remove the paper filter. | |
6. Repeat steps 2-5 once more. Reuse the vinegar in the jug to fill the water tank again. | |

![]() | 8. Switch on the appliance and let it brew until the water tank is empty. |
9. Switch off the appliance and let it cool down for 3 minutes. | |
10. Repeat steps 7 – 10 note:Repeat step 10 until the water in the jug no longer tastes or smells like vinegar. |
