When I use my vacuum cleaner, the appliance produces an unpleasant smell.
The unpleasant smell may have different causes.
- A smell may occur if you have just installed a new filter.
- A smell may occur if the dust bag or the dust bucket is full, which restricts the airflow and increases the temperature of the motor.
- A smell may occur, over time, if the exhaust filter becomes dirty or clogged, which restricts the airflow and increases the temperature of the motor.
- If it is a chemical smell, the smell may be due to a new filter. The smell should fade after a few hours of use.
- If it is a burning smell;
1. Check if the dustbag or the dust bucket is full. If this is the case, change the disposable dust bag, empty the reusable dust bag or empty the dust bucket.
2. Replace the exhaust filter if it is dirty or clogged.
Tip: There is always a smell coming from the appliance when you are vacuuming. If you use a bag vacuum cleaner, you can buy scented granules to mask this smell.
